So as the story goes, a while ago Kaymir and I got invited to showcase our own photography at the X-streets show which opened yesterday (12/12). All the days of stress and preperations really paid of, because the 3 story high ABC treehouse gallery was looking great from top to bottom.
And here it is, the official magazine for X-street's 'Here we Are' show on the 12th of December in the ABC treehouse gallery, Amsterdam. Together with Wolfgang Josten, we'll be displaying photography at the show, so you know it'l be a blast. The magazine contains info on all the participants, and some special CFYE ads as well. It will be available in limited edition on the show itself, but untill then, have the preview online right here.
Hell yeah! Not long untill the big opening of the X-streets expo 'here we are' is opening in the city centers of Amsterdam! You might know the x-streets collective of some class a walls they did together, their previous show with free beer or simply because their stickers, stencils, paste-ups and other work is all over the citytown. Anyhow, this year you can expect another banger from the collective! The members will show their street art works and installations, and they've also invited a few very special guests who deliver a photo exhibition, naming Wolfgang Jostens- THE street (art) photographer of Amsterdam-, Kaymir Stark and myself!
Almost forgot to post these pics of the nice painting session we had last sunday. In the same derelict building where the CFYE wall is, so it took some fence jumping but after that it was all good. Unfortunately it got dark real fast so we'll have to go back and do a session like this again! Big up to the homies Ives & Simis. More after the jump.
Yeah people, I promised you more pictures of doel so here they are! I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as we did making them. So to tell you a bit about Doel:
Doel is the first town where the local council recognized the dangers of living near a nuclear power plant. A lot of inhabitants complained about aches and in some cases even mutations, at which point the council started researching... Okay this is a load of crap, I hope you bought it for a minute, but the real story:
Already back in the sixties they decided that the harbor of Antwerp had to grow, and the tiny little village of Doel was in the way. Luckily crisis and recession hit (multiple times) and it never really happened, till a couple of years ago. Now there are still a few people living there, but the biggest part of Doel is a Ghost village. Ives, Mr.176, Kaymir, myself and Bushit (dragged him along behind the car) went to snap some pics and paint over the town. Seriously I can't say anything else but that it's eerie and amazing!!
No not like that you filthy mind. Yesterday I, together with a larg crowd, witnessed Ives putting up a huge Marilyn Monroe in public for the first time. The whole crowd that gathered actualy applauded when they saw the stunning result!
X-streets gave us some nice pics from basel a little while ago! There are some great pics from the tracks out there, and also a few nice ones from the Carhart gallery. Check 'm. Big thanks to X-streets!
