Random order is an amazing show with the works of Erosie, Graphic Sugery, Zward and Bier & Brood. The show is in the Alley Guerilla gallery in Hasselt, Belgium. If you're in the neighborhood you should definitely stop by because it definitely looks worth while. More info here.
Will be looking forward to this one: A ROA show in Galerie Itinerrance in Paris, starting of from the 4th of February! The Belgium based artists quickly gained his fame with portraying normally small mammals in huge proportions..in black and white! some of these works of him are ingenious, giving a look in the nerve system or organs of an animal by wachting from a different angle, or opening a door. He has been part of group shows and other out-of-the ordinary expositions, but don't know if he has ever done a solo gallerie show, but knowing his work, it'll be great!!
The positive geezer CHASE will have a great solo show coming up in LA, at the LA contemporary gallery. Check Chase's website for a preview of his work! Don't know Chase? Check the interview we did with him a while ago.
I don't remember if I already did a post on Bue the Warrior, but he has enough great material to be featured more then once. This artist from Belgium is known for his great creatures and interactions with the environment. He also was present at the Vitry Jam.
Actually, some were already there a while but recently Belgian street art photographer Kriebel has blessed us with a new set of pics from Brussels. I was going to dump it all here, but there is actualy too much awesome stuff in there to do it at once. So I'll start out with one of my favorite artists of 2009: Bonom. Why? Yeah people, I promised you more pictures of doel so here they are! I hope you enjoy looking at the pictures as much as we did making them. So to tell you a bit about Doel:
Doel is the first town where the local council recognized the dangers of living near a nuclear power plant. A lot of inhabitants complained about aches and in some cases even mutations, at which point the council started researching... Okay this is a load of crap, I hope you bought it for a minute, but the real story:
Already back in the sixties they decided that the harbor of Antwerp had to grow, and the tiny little village of Doel was in the way. Luckily crisis and recession hit (multiple times) and it never really happened, till a couple of years ago. Now there are still a few people living there, but the biggest part of Doel is a Ghost village. Ives, Mr.176, Kaymir, myself and Bushit (dragged him along behind the car) went to snap some pics and paint over the town. Seriously I can't say anything else but that it's eerie and amazing!!
Just a small teaser...Kaymir, Ives, Mr.176 and myself have been to the ghosttown of Doel yesterday, near antwerp. It's f'in amazing, empty houses, everything done with street art and.. Well I'll tell you more about that soon! A lot more pics soon as well!
Found this nice set from the Best Ever VS ROA expo in Brighton which started on 19th september in the Prescription art gallery, Brighton. Don't know if this still up, but the pictures look amazing! Pictures by Prescription Art.
Damn I can not wait to get to Doel! It looks like an epic little village out there and it's all covered in street art. For those who don't know about Doel, read this. If all is well (you never know with those street artists) me and Kaymir will tag along with Ives and Fake and capture the last days of this town as well. In the meanwhile, enjoy the works of the good people from Lastplak.
